Early Intervention & Child Development

At Sirisha Rehabilitation Centre (SRC), we believe that every child deserves the right start in life—especially those born with developmental challenges. Our Early Intervention & Child Development Program is a specialized and integrated approach to supporting children from birth to 6 years of age who exhibit developmental delays, disabilities, or are at risk of falling behind in their milestones.

Why Early Intervention?

The first few years of life are a critical period for a child’s physical, emotional, cognitive, and social development. When developmental delays or disabilities are identified and addressed early, the chances of meaningful improvement increase dramatically. Early intervention not only improves the child’s abilities but also reduces long-term dependency, improves school readiness, and enhances the child’s participation in daily life.

Our Objectives

  • To identify developmental issues as early as possible through regular screening and assessment.

  • To build foundational skills in movement, speech, cognition, behavior, and social interaction.

  • To support parents and caregivers through training, counseling, and emotional support.

  • To create a bridge to inclusive education, ensuring children are ready for school or special programs.

  • To promote long-term independence and better quality of life through structured support.

Our Methodology

SRC follows a multi-disciplinary approach involving expert professionals such as special educators, pediatricians, psychologists, physiotherapists, speech therapists, and occupational therapists. Each child receives an Individualized Intervention Plan (IIP) based on their specific strengths, needs, and family environment.

Parental Empowerment

We believe that parents are the first teachers, and their active involvement is key to a child’s progress. SRC conducts regular workshops, parent training sessions, and home-based activity planning so that families are equipped to continue therapeutic practices at home with confidence and care.

Community Reach

Our early intervention services are offered both at our center and through community outreach camps in rural areas, ensuring that no child is left behind due to geographic or economic barriers. We work closely with Anganwadi workers, local schools, and health centers to identify and refer children in need.

Impact

Over the years, hundreds of children have benefited from SRC’s early intervention, many of whom have gone on to attend mainstream or special schools, improved their communication and mobility, and experienced better emotional well-being. With every child we help, we’re building a more inclusive future.
